io.Connect Desktop 10.5.1 Released
Native App Windows in Global Layouts
On Windows, you can now include windows from native applications that don’t use the io.Connect APIs in Global Layouts (for example, existing executable applications that can’t be modified to integrate the io.Connect .NET library can still have their windows saved and restored as part of a user’s desktop layout).
With window tracking enabled, io.Connect Desktop can discover an application’s window and save and restore its position, size, and state (normal, maximized, or minimized). The reuseInLayouts setting also allows an existing application instance to be reused when switching between Global Layouts rather than relaunched.
To enable the feature, configure details.externalWindowTracking in the app definition.
This is a Windows-only feature for
"exe"applications using process tracking. Tracked windows aren’t io.Connect Windows and can’t participate in Workspaces or window groups.
Native App Window Tracking – Configuration
Improvements & Bug Fixes
-
Faster app initialization for applications using the App Management API in
"full"mode when io.Insights tracing is enabled. The improvement addresses performance overhead that could grow with the number of registered applications. -
Workspace keyboard focus fix – on Windows in advanced platform mode, windows in newly opened Workspaces App instances now receive keyboard focus without requiring an initial click.
-
macOS startup fix – resolved an issue where handling
connect://links could trigger a recurring macOS prompt about reopening windows, blocking platform startup until the user responded. -
Layout rename fix – resolved an issue in the local Layout store where renaming a Layout could cause it to be reported as removed and become unavailable.
The release bundles @interopio/desktop 6.23.2.
