Boost Fidessa Workflows with BMLL Level 3 Predictive Analytics

This quick demo shows how BMLL Level 3 predictive analytics can be integrated into Fidessa pre-trade workflows and execution commentary.

io.Connect Desktop allows Fidessa to run alongside the BMLL Liquidity Classification analytics application. Fidessa remains the trader’s workflow surface, while BMLL provides market microstructure analytics that update from Fidessa with a single click.

The integration is designed to:

  • Enhance Fidessa pre-trade workflows.
  • Support execution commentary with BMLL Level 3 analytics.
  • Give traders granular insight into available liquidity, venue quality, price, and trading conditions.
  • Bring BMLL analytics to the point where they are most needed inside the execution workflow.

1. Link Fidessa and BMLL with a Common Colour Group

Start by setting a common colour group across Fidessa and the BMLL analytics application.

This colour-group link allows the BMLL application to respond to activity in the corresponding Fidessa workspace. Right-click → Track → Tracking Group → Green (or another color)

2. Select an Instrument in Fidessa

After the shared colour group is set, simply select or click an instrument in Fidessa.

Once the instrument is selected, the BMLL Liquidity Classification window updates automatically to match that instrument, providing traders with the granular market microstructure insight they need to know, where, when and how to trade.

3. Review the BMLL Liquidity Classification View

The BMLL window displays the selected ticker and shows analytics over the chosen date range.

The liquidity classification panel breaks activity into categories such as:

  • Lit Addressable.
  • Bilateral Addressable.
  • Non Addressable.
  • Dark/Grey Addressable.

The charts on the right show how volume changes over time and across venues.

4. Use the Analytics to Inform Execution Decisions

BMLL Level 3 analytics helps execution trading teams assess the market structure behind an instrument, including liquidity, pricing, and venue quality.

In practice, the trader can use this information to understand where liquidity is available, which venues are relevant, and how market conditions may affect execution.

Result: Keep the Analytics Inside the Fidessa Workflow

The integration keeps BMLL analytics available directly from the existing Fidessa workflow. Traders do not need to leave Fidessa or manually search in a separate analytics workflow.
