Previously the enterprise AI path was clear - build an app, hook OpenAI’s or Antropic’s API key and customize as you need. The pro is freedom and control. Cons are maintenance, time and cost.
But now companies already pay for some subscription (Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT) and using the API just adds cost (a lot if input is large). And vendor apps became very powerful e.g. Cowork and Codex can now control your computer.
So I wonder what your thoughts are. Will finance orgs continue building inhouse apps or encourage end users to use vendor apps (in which case we’d better focus on MCP rather than SDK).
