Are you planning to attend Open Source in Finance Forum (OSSF) in New York next week? We’ll be there, too, right before the interop.io Client Forum.
Bob Myers and Kalin Kostov will have a session on FDC3 and AI, covering how to use FDC3 Intents as MCP Tools. Bob and Kalin will show how to turn FDC3-enabled applications into secure, deterministic AI tools ready for agentic use.
They’ll cover how to:
-
Define tools and actions using open standards like the Model Context Protocol (MCP)
-
Integrate LLMs and chat UIs safely
-
Craft effective prompts (and avoid the bad ones)
-
Handle metadata, schema definitions, and discoverability
Expect a real-world session with live examples, practical ways to safely deploy AI across FDC3-enabled apps, and insight into how the FDC3 community can evolve toward AI readiness.
When: Wednesday, October 22, 2025, 3:30 pm – 4:00 pm EDT
Where: Hall 1 – 1st Floor
Julianna Langston will also be at the forum and will be sharing practical tips and a live demo of how FDC3 for the Web can also connect with Desktop applications. As Julianna shared in her last OSSF presentation, FDC3 for the Web unlocks new capabilities, but it’s not so simplem since financial desktops are hybrid by nature. Without bridging between web, native, and vendor apps, FDC3 can’t reach its full potential.
The session introduces io.Bridge, our solution for seamless interoperability across platforms and devices. Julianna will walk through how firms are already using bridging to streamline workflows and extend their FDC3 strategies, along with a look at the proposed FDC3 Bridging Standard and its impact.
When: Tuesday, October 21, 2025, 2:40 pm – 3:10 pm EDT
Where: Hub 2 – 2nd Floor
During the event, we’ll also be at our interop.io booth. Stop by to meet the team, see demos, and talk about everything from FDC3 and AI to security and community growth.
