What’s included in the io.Connect Free Trial?
The io.Connect Free Trial gives you more than a hosted product demo. After registering, you receive one account that can be used to access:
- The hosted io.Connect Browser trial.
- The downloadable io.Connect Desktop trial.
- The FDC3 Developer Sandbox.
You use the same email address and password for all three, so there is no need to create and manage separate trial accounts.
The environments serve different purposes. The Browser trial is a ready-made demo where you can experience io.Connect as the end user: open predefined Workspaces, launch applications, select clients or instruments, and see how an action in one application can update or trigger actions in others.
The Desktop trial is intended for a more technical, hands-on evaluation. It is installed locally and gives you access to the platform files and configuration. This means you can go beyond the predefined demo and work with the platform as a developer. For example, you can:
- Add, remove, and modify application definitions.
- Add your own web or native applications.
- Make applications interop-enabled using the io.Connect or FDC3 APIs.
- Change system-wide and application-specific settings.
- Customize the Launchpad, Workspaces, window frames, platform styles, or even create new themes.
- Test Shared Contexts, Channels, Interop methods, streams, Intents, and FDC3 workflows.
- Experiment with Workspaces, Layouts, and window-management behavior.
- Review platform and application logs when developing or troubleshooting.
In short the io.Connect Desktop Trial gives you full admin acces to test anything.
